A missing Perth pastor has been spotted getting off a bus in Stonehaven, police have confirmed.

Peter Edwards, an associate pastor at Perth Christian Fellowship, went missing from his home in Scone on Tuesday.

Officers said they now had a confirmed sighting of the 65-year-old arriving at Stonehaven's Barclay Street at 15:20 that day.

Police said he boarded the bus in Aberdeen at 14:00.

Officers have been reviewing CCTV and carrying out door-to-door inquiries.

Mr Edwards is 5ft 9in tall, balding, with a grey beard and sideburns. He speaks with an American accent.

He was last seen wearing gold-rimmed glasses, a long-sleeved grey shirt, black tank top jumper, tie, grey trousers and black leather shoes.

Mr Edwards was earlier seen leaving a number 7 bus on Perth's Glasgow Road at 07:43 on Tuesday.

The bus stopped outside the Lovat Hotel and Mr Edwards walked towards Perth city centre.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "There is concern for Peter's welfare and officers would like to hear from anyone who has seen him or has any information on his whereabouts."
