Man critical in Dundee after injuring head in fall

Police have appealed for information after a man was found with serious head injuries after falling in Dundee.

The 54-year-old man was found on Strathmartine Road, near its junction with Laird Street and Harestane Road, at 11:35 on Monday.

He was taken to Ninewells Hospital by ambulance. His condition is described as critical but stable.

Police want to speak to anyone who saw the man beforehand, but they said there was nothing to suggest any criminality.

His identity has been established.

The injured man is described 5ft 9in high, with a slim build and short dark hair. He was wearing a black zip-up coat, dark jeans and grey shoes.

Officers also want to trace a female jogger, thought to be about 40 years old, and a man of about 50 who helped the man before the ambulance arrived.
