Woman accused of £11,000 theft from pensioner

A woman is to stand trial accused of stealing a 77-year-old man's bank card and using it to take £11,000 out of his account.

Rona Macdonald is alleged to have taken the card from an address in Dundee on various occasions between 8 August, 2013 and 18 May last year.

Prosecutors allege she used it at bank branches, cash machines and shops across the city.

It is alleged that the amounts withdrawn ranged from £21.95 to £1,590.

Ms Macdonald, 59, of Dundee, denied a total of 19 charges of theft at Dundee Sheriff Court on summary complaint.

Sheriff Lorna Drummond QC set a trial date in November and a pre-trial hearing in October.
