Trucker in court over fatal Angus crash

A truck driver has appeared in court accused of causing the death of a motorist by dangerous driving.

Glenn Craib, 45, of Elgin, appeared in private at Forfar Sheriff Court over the death of Witold Solski, 65, in a crash last November.

Mr Solski, of Dundee, died at the roadside following the crash, on the A90 near Stracathro, Angus.

The HGV driver made no plea or declaration and the case was continued for further examination.

He was released on bail meantime and a date for his next appearance has yet to be confirmed.

Mr Solski was cut free from the wreckage of his Skoda by firefighters but was pronounced dead at the roadside.

He was driving between Forfar and Brechin when the collision took place on the northbound carriageway near to the Careston and Balnabreich junction.
