A toy shop worker was caught with hundreds of images of girls being sexually abused, a court was told.

Steven Duncan was arrested after police working on a tip-off raided the home he shared with his parents and siblings.

Officers seized computer equipment and found child abuse photographs and videos on two hard drives.

Duncan, 29, from Montrose in Angus was placed on the sex offenders register ahead of sentencing at Dundee Sheriff Court in September.

Depute fiscal Eilidh Robertson told the court: "At the time of this offence he was employed in a toy shop.

"Two hard drives found in his bedroom contained indecent images.

"On one, seven videos and 211 still images were found and on another there were 243 indecent images.

"The run time of the videos came to one hour and six minutes.

"They all depicted female children aged between 10 and 16."

Duncan pleaded guilty to downloading indecent images of children between 22 May, 2009 and 10 June, 2014 at his home address.

Sheriff Alastair Carmichael deferred sentence for social work background reports and released Duncan on bail.
