Stirling drink-driver was seven times over the limit

A 50-year-old woman has admitted driving while over seven times the legal alcohol limit on a road in Stirling.

Ewelina Rebisz was arrested after another motorist saw her driving erratically on Causewayhead Road at about 21:30 on Tuesday.

Rebisz struck kerbs and crossed over into the opposite carriageway before she was stopped by officers.

She will be sentenced at Stirling Sheriff Court on 10 August.

Rebisz was disqualified from driving in the meantime.

Insp Roddy MacMillan, from the east of Scotland trunk road patrol group, said: "Ewelina Rebisz drove while more than seven times over the drink-driving limit putting herself and other road users in danger of serious injury, or even death.

"Thankfully a member of the public had the quick-thinking and community spirit to call the police thereby helping to prevent a more tragic outcome.

"While this driver was substantially over the drink-drive limit, we want to reiterate our message that no amount of alcohol is safe when you are getting behind the wheel of a car.

"We will seek prosecution for everyone who chooses to drive while over the limit."
