Farmer shoots dogs that attacked sheep

A farmer shot two dogs that escaped from a yard in Clackmannanshire and attacked his sheep.

The six sheep were badly injured in the attack near Kennet village and were later destroyed.

A Forth Valley Police spokesperson said the farmer was legally allowed to shoot the dogs in order to stop them attacking his livestock.

Officers said a local 54-year-old man was the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal.
