Woman, 21, in serious sex attack in Stirling

A 21-year-old woman was seriously sexually assaulted in Stirling on Tuesday night, police have said.

Officers were called to Forthvale Court, Cornton, just before midnight.

A man has been detained in connection with the incident involving the woman plus two other alleged assaults on two 21-year-old men and a 22-year-old woman.

Police cordoned off an underpass at Union Street roundabout and carried out door-to-door inquiries in the area.

High-visibility patrols were also carried out in the area to reassure concerned members of the public.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Officers are now investigating a report that a 21-year-old woman was seriously sexually assaulted.

"A man is currently detained in connection with this and two incidents of physical assault.

"The first involved two men, both aged 21, and the second involved a woman aged 22. Both took place near to Union Street Roundabout in Stirling and occurred between 11.20pm and 11.50pm."
