A Perth man who was caught importing cannabis from Canada after he had it sent to his home address will be sentenced next month.

Horticultural student Steven Kennedy ordered £2,500 worth of the drug online, but it was spotted by an airport sniffer dog.

Police confronted Kennedy with the package at his home in Scott Street.

He admitted being concerned in the supply of the class B drug and will return to court on 2 March.

Depute fiscal Jim Eodanable told Perth Sheriff Court that Kennedy planned to sell half of the consignment to a friend.

Kennedy, 35, admitted being concerned in the supply of cannabis at his home and at Coventry International Hub between 17 August and 5 September, 2014.

Sheriff William Wood deferred sentence for the preparation of reports.
