A man has admitted attempting to kill another man he claimed was bullying him following a birthday party in Clackmannanshire.
George Drummond, 34, attacked 40-year-old Jan Lasman after a mutual friend's birthday in Alloa and later confessed: "I stabbed him in the throat."
Mr Lasman was sitting on a couch when Drummond repeatedly struck him with a kitchen knife.
The 34-year-old will be sentenced next month.
He admitted the attempted murder charge during a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.
The court heard that Drummond fled the scene before his blood-soaked victim was found and taken to hospital.
Mr Lasman required treatment for a number of wounds, including to his neck and chest, after the attack on 26 September 2015 and has been left scarred for life.
Drummond, of Alloa, dialled 999 insisting he had been the victim of an attack.
But he later admitted: "I went right for the jugular, but I must have missed". On being charged, he also said Mr Lasman "should not be a bully".
Lady Scott remanded Drummond in custody and deferred sentencing until 19 February in Edinburgh.
