A convicted murderer who absconded from a prison near Dundee has been found, police have said.

James Casey failed to return to HMP Castle Huntly after day release and was reported missing on 10 December.

He was jailed for life in 1990 for the murder of a social club manager during a robbery. He was released in 2002 but jailed again for armed robbery.

Police Scotland said the 50-year-old had been found by officers in Birmingham.
