Emergency services have been at the scene of a suspected chemical leak at a commercial premises in Dundee.

Police Scotland, the Scottish and Fire Rescue Service and Scottish Ambulance Service were called to the incident at Dundee Cold Stores Ltd on Whittle Place at 14:05.

The building has been evacuated. Police said there no risk to the wider public.

One person has been treated for minor irritation as a result of fume inhalation.

Emergency service units and specialist engineers will remain at the scene in order to contain and deal with the suspected leak.

Police Scotland said there will be a controlled release of the chemicals by the specialist engineers which could take up to two days to complete.

This, they advise, may result in a strong odour in the Kingsway West area of the city.

Officers stressed the release of the chemicals will not be harmful to humans or animals.
