Brechin's Andover Primary school evacuated after fire
An Angus primary school was evacuated after a fire broke out in the changing rooms.
Staff and pupils were rushed from Andover Primary in Brechin after the alarm was raised at about 13:20.
Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus moved in to extinguish the flames using hose jets, and remained in place to ventilate smoke from the building.
Angus Council closed the school for the day and asked parents to collect their children.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service station manager Fraser Scott said an investigation would be carried out to determine the cause of the fire.
He said: "The room itself has been extensively damaged by smoke and fire and there is significant smoke logging throughout the building.
"The school was quickly evacuated and everyone has been accounted for."
