Police investigate after OAP attacked in Carnoustie

Police are investigating after a 82-year-old man was attacked in the street in Carnoustie.

The pensioner was standing at the bus stop on Barry Road at 21:00 on Friday when he was assaulted by two men in their 20s, both wearing dark clothing.

He suffered a grazed cheek and was reportedly robbed of a small sum of money.

Officers are also keen to speak to a man driving a van who came to the victim's assistance shortly afterwards.
