Police are helping in a search for a missing moose on the loose in Perthshire.

Hercules the moose broke out of his enclosure at Pitcastle Estate for the second time in a week on Saturday.

The six-year-old bull moose was last seen at the side of the A9 near Dalnacardoch Wood, 30 miles away from the estate, on Monday.

Police have asked for sightings of the beast, which was hand-raised and is not dangerous, to be reported.

On Tuesday, Perth and Kinross Council tweeted: "If anyone sees the moose which is on the loose in highland Perthshire please contact the police on 101."
