Woman hurt after thieves push their way into house

A woman was hurt after thieves called at her door dressed in high-visibility jackets before pushing their way inside and stealing cash.

Police are investigating the theft, which happened at about 13:30 on Friday in Carronshore, near Falkirk.

The 23-year-old was pushed to the ground by the two men, who were between 35 and 40 years old and spoke with English accents.

They look a three-figure sum of money from the house before making off.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the crime, which took place in Skaithmuir Crescent.

The victim suffered head and arm injuries as a result of her fall.

Det Sgt James Martin said: "This was a very frightening ordeal for the victim, though fortunately she was not seriously injured.

"In particular, we would like to speak to members of the public who remember seeing a yellow van with a front cab and flatbed at the rear in the street around the time of the robbery."
