Three men appear in court charged with murder after Perth death
Three men have appeared in court charged with murdering a 27-year-old man in Perth by attacking him with a television and golf club.
Taylor Gordon, Drew Paterson and Mark Boyd are accused of repeatedly stamping on William Reid's head and body before abandoning him in freezing temperatures on Bute Drive between 7 and 8 December.
At Perth Sheriff Court, all three made no plea or declaration.
Sheriff Fiona Tait continued the case for further examination.
The three are alleged to have acted together to murder Mr Reid, from Perth, by attacking him in a flat at Inchaffray Street in the city between 7 and 8 December.
It is alleged that the attacked continued to the area of multi-pitches on Bute Drive and that they struck Mr Reid with a golf club and with a TV set.
The three men are alleged to have repeatedly stamped on his head and body to his severe injury before placing him in a car and depositing him at the multi-pitches in freezing temperatures.
Mr Paterson, 24, of no fixed abode, Mr Gordon, 19, and Mr Boyd, 28, both from Perth, were remanded in custody.
Extra police officers had to be called to court after a large number of Mr Reid's family and friends turned up before the case was called.
Mr Reid was found close to his home during the early hours of Saturday morning with serious injuries and died in Perth Royal Infirmary a short time later.
A team of Tayside Police officers carried out door-to-door inquiries in the North Muirton area over the weekend and the scene was cordoned off.
