Wheelie bins worth £10,000 destroyed in Grangemouth fire
A fire at a builders yard in Grangemouth, where more than 3,000 wheelie bins were set alight, is being treated as suspicious.
Central Scotland Police said bins valued at more than £10,000 were destroyed at Carronvale Homes in Wood Street at 19:00 on 16 November.
A force spokeswoman said the blaze was believed to be linked to another fire, which broke out at La Porte Precinct in Grangemouth at 19:30 the following day.
No serious injuries were reported.
A number of flats were evacuated near the La Port Precinct as fire crews sought to control the flames.
The fire started in a small food recycling container.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who was in either of the areas around the time of the fires.
A Central Scotland Police spokeswoman said: "We believe both incidents are linked and we urge anyone with information to contact us as soon as possible."
