A 60-year-old man has been airlifted to hospital after rescue crews were called out to search for two hillwalkers missing on Ben Lawers.

Emergency services were alerted by a walker at 18:20 on Saturday when two of his companions failed to return from the hill, near to Killin.

Mountain rescue teams were called out, along with an RAF rescue helicopter.

One man was traced quickly and led the teams to his companion, who had fallen. He had suffered suspected broken ribs.

The man was airlifted to Ninewells Hospital for treatment.

Tayside Police, civilian mountain rescue teams and the RAF Lossiemouth helicopter all took part in the rescue.
