Police probe latest attack on cars in Dundee

Police hunting a vandal who caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to cars in Dundee believe the culprit may be linked to previous attacks.

About 25 cars parked in Lorraine Road, Baxter Park Terrace and Pitkerro Road were scratched between 2300 GMT on Saturday and 0900 GMT on Sunday.

Damage was estimated at between £15,000 and £20,000.

Police are linking the incident to a similar attack on 70 vehicles in the Stobswell area three months ago.

'Crime link'

A spokeswoman for Tayside Police said: "Given the nature of the vandalism, officers firmly believe that this latest spate is linked to previous similar crimes in the area."

Officers are currently reviewing private CCTV footage from the area in a bid to identify the person responsible

The suspect is described as having short, light-coloured hair. He may have been wearing a white top and dark trousers.
