Appeal over Perth knife robbery in car

Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses after a woman was robbed in her car by a man with a large knife.

The woman was sitting in her black Saab in Perth's Morrisons car park when opened the passenger door and got in.

Officers said the Caledonian Road store car park would have been very busy and want to speak to anyone who was there on 22 December at about 1830 GMT.

They particularly want to trace a man who had just parked a silver 4x4 or pick-up truck nearby.

The man had to retrieve an item that had fallen from his "expensive looking" vehicle.

'Extremely shaken'

A spokesman said: "Police are eager to speak with this man as it is believed he may have information that may assist the investigation."

The man who attacked the woman was described as being in his mid 20s, of slim build and about 5ft 7in tall.

He was wearing a white hoodie with a hat and checked scarf, and was carrying a large knife.

Police said the woman was "extremely shaken" by the experience but unhurt. Her mobile phone was taken during the robbery, but was found nearby.
