Police officer faces court charge


A police officer has appeared in court charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Central Scotland Police Constable Douglas Dishington, 44, appeared on petition at Alloa Sheriff Court.

A spokeswoman for the Crown Office said Pc Dishington made no plea or declaration during the private hearing before Sheriff David Mackie on Thursday.

Central Scotland Police said Pc Dishington had been suspended.

The case was continued and Pc Dishington was released on bail.
