A kayak fisherman has been rescued after losing his paddle and getting stuck at the foot of a steep cliff.

The incident happened near St Abbs Head at about 13:30 on Sunday.

Eyemouth RNLI inshore lifeboat rescued the man from the rocks while St Abbs independent lifeboat was able to recover his kayak.

The fisherman and his kayak were then safely returned to dry land after which both lifeboats were stood down and no further assistance required.
