Dumfries to Castle Douglas bus indecent assault charge denied

A man has appeared at Dumfries Sheriff court accused of indecently assaulting a 16-year-old girl on a bus.

Alan Halliday, 56, of Beeswing, denied taking hold of the teenager's hands and touching her in the groin area.

He also denied making sexual remarks to her and repeatedly asking her questions of a sexual nature on the Dumfries to Castle Douglas bus on Sunday night.

A sheriff banned him from travelling by bus until the outcome of the case. A trial date was set for May.
