Dumfries and Galloway icy road crashes prompt driver warning

A spate of crashes in icy conditions in southern Scotland has prompted a police warning to drivers.

A number of incidents were reported in the Annandale and Eskdale area after temperatures dipped sharply overnight.

Police Scotland said it was dealing with three crashes in the area and asked the public to take extra care.

They said ice had been reported on roads and pavements across the region and drivers and pedestrians should take conditions into account.
