Van driver denies passenger death charge

A van driver from Glasgow has denied causing the death of his passenger on the A74(M) near Lockerbie.

Paul Brown, 52, of Motherwell, died in a crash on the motorway in August 2015.

Graeme Brett, 35, pleaded not guilty to driving carelessly, failing to maintain a proper lookout ahead and driving into the back of another vehicle.

Dumfries Sheriff Court was told some issues had to be resolved as well as an investigation into Mr Brett's health and a trial date was set for May.
