Dumfries thieves set light to stolen car
Police are investigating after a car was stolen in Dumfries and later found on fire in the town.
The blue Ford Focus was taken from the driveway of a house on Callum Road at about 02:30 on Sunday.
The vehicle was subsequently reported on fire at about 07:35 in Lochfield Road.
The blaze was put out by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service but police said the car had still been "extensively damaged".
PC Chris Kemp said: "We are keen to trace the following described man who was seen in the Callum Road area at around 03:45 hours on Sunday morning.
"He appeared to be ringing doorbells in the street and is described as being in his late 20s, had a beard and was wearing a black jacket.
"We are also keen to hear from anyone who may have seen this car being driven in the Dumfries area in the early hours of Sunday morning. The number of the car is SD10 XEU."
