Kelso and St Boswells crash spate prompts police driving plea

A spate of crashes in the Borders has prompted a police plea to motorists to take more care in difficult driving conditions.

They were called to four separate incidents in the Kelso and St Boswells areas around lunchtime on Friday.

Police said nobody had been seriously hurt but urged drivers to remain "mindful of the weather conditions".

In particular, they advised avoiding sudden acceleration or braking when road surfaces are wet.

They also recommended using dipped headlights to increase visibility in poor conditions.
