Woman dies during Santa fun run near Selkirk

A woman has died after collapsing during a Santa fun run in the Scottish Borders on Saturday.

The 59-year old was among 150 runners taking part in the Santa Jog at Bowhill Country Park, near Selkirk.

Police confirmed that she was treated by ambulance staff after collapsing, but died before she could be taken to hospital.

The woman has been named locally as retired primary school teacher Eve Rafferty.
