Man in court over Heriot cannabis find

A 52-year-old man has appeared in court after a cannabis crop with a street value in excess of £75,000 was discovered in Heriot in the Borders.

Edward Dorman, of Heriot, is charged with being concerned in the supply of cannabis and producing a controlled drug.

He made no plea or declaration at Selkirk Sheriff Court and the case was continued for further examination.

Police seized the drugs from an address in Heriot Mill on Thursday.

Ch Insp Andrew McLean thanked the community for "invaluable information" which led to the discovery of the drugs.

"Disrupting the local drugs network is a top priority for us and we will always act when we receive information," he said.
