Tractor driver sought after Whauphill bicycle crash

Police are trying to trace a tractor driver who failed to stop after a collision with a cyclist in the south of Scotland.

The accident happened on the B7085 near Whauphill, south of Newton Stewart, at about 11:50 on Wednesday.

The 31-year-old cyclist from Minnigaff was knocked from his bike and treated for minor injuries.

The tractor did not stop and continued south towards Whauphill after the accident.

Police have appealed to the driver to come forward.

The tractor has been described as red and black in colour and was towing a silver Joskin trailer.
