Dumfries hospital ward to reopen after sickness outbreak

A ward at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary is expected to reopen following a sickness bug outbreak.

Ward 10 has been shut due to a number of patients experiencing symptoms consistent with norovirus.

NHS Dumfries and Galloway said a deep clean was to be carried out in order to allow it to reopen to admissions.

Dr Martin Connor, consultant microbiologist, thanked visitors and staff for their "ongoing support and understanding".
