Owner sought after Annan dog-biting incident

Police in Annan are trying to trace a woman who was out walking her dog when it bit another woman on the hand.

It follows an incident on the town's Hospital Road at about 11:15 on Monday.

A 20-year-old woman stopped to talk to the dog-walker when the animal bit her. As a result she required checks at Dumfries Infirmary.

The dog has been described as a white and tan "Akita-type". The woman walking the dog was in her late 20s or early 30s with blonde hair in a bobble.

She was wearing a grey hooded top and dark coloured leggings.

PC Suzanne Paul said: "We have carried out extensive door to door enquiries in Hospital Road and the surrounding streets looking for witnesses to this incident.

"We appeal to anyone who recognises the description of this dog or the woman who was walking it to get in touch through 101.

"We also ask the woman herself to come forward in order to clear this matter up."
