Police are appealing for witnesses after a fire at a stables in the Scottish Borders which they say was started deliberately.
Two horses were in the building at Burnflat Lane on the southern edge of Hawick at the time.
They were rescued unharmed from the fire which broke out some time between 12:00 and 13:40 on Friday.
Police said two windows on a nearby building were also smashed and a wall vandalised with pink spray paint.
Sgt Shirley Anderson said: "It's quite clear from this early stage of inquiry that this fire was started deliberately and I'm today appealing to anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour in the area to please contact us immediately.
"This could have been a far more serious incident, however, no animals or people were harmed.
"A significant amount of damage has been caused and we will work tirelessly to trace whoever is responsible."
