Kelso hospital ward shut by norovirus

A ward at a Borders hospital has been shut as a precautionary measure due to an outbreak of the norovirus.

A number of patients at Kelso Hospital have been suffering symptoms.

NHS Borders said increased levels of the winter vomiting bug were now being reported across Scotland.

Nursing director Evelyn Rodger urged members of the public to "carefully consider" any hospital visits in order to help fight the spread of the virus.
