Police name 91-year-old Stranraer fire victim

Police have identified a 91-year-old man who died in hospital after a house fire in Stranraer on Saturday evening.

Norman Fidler was rescued from the blaze at Ryanview Crescent at about 19:45.

He was taken to hospital in Stranraer but died later.

A joint police and fire service investigation is under way to establish the cause of the fire but it is not thought to be suspicious.
