Newtown St Boswells garden centre growth promises jobs
Plans for a £2.5m expansion at a garden centre in a Borders village promise to create about 40 jobs.
Milestone Garden and Leisure in Newtown St Boswells wants to build nine new retail units and a gymnasium.
They also hope to increase the car parking capacity.
In a separate Scottish Borders Council application, Milestone has also submitted plans for 40 houses to be built on a neighbouring site - including seven affordable homes.
As well as new roads infrastructure the full application details parking spaces for 88 vehicles.
The designed housing layout is set around a central amenity space.
The planning applications for the business units and the housing will be considered by the council over the winter.
