Regular bus services have returned to the centre of Dumfries after improvement works which have run weeks past their schedule.

The £1m upgrade of the area around the town's Burns statue is not yet complete.

However, bus stances have now reopened to replace temporary stops at other locations.

Dumfries and Galloway Council said extra care should be taken in areas where work was still ongoing.
