Hawick man in court on rape charge

A man has appeared in private in court in the Scottish Borders accused of rape.

Graeme James Cook, 40, of Hawick, also faced a charge of sexual assault at Selkirk Sheriff Court.

He made no plea or declaration and his case was continued for further examination.

He was remanded in custody by Sheriff Derrick McIntyre and is due to appear in court again on 27 May.
