Jewellery thieves target Kirkton home

Thieves have taken jewellery and a laptop computer worth about £10,000 in total from a house in a Dumfries and Galloway village.

A house on Main Street in Kirkton, near to the junction with Longlock Road, was broken into some time between 16:30 on Friday and 19:30 on Saturday.

Jewellery, including a number of expensive watches, was taken.

Police have appealed for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to contact them.
