A deal has been struck to save one of three closure-threatened youth hostels in the Scottish Borders.
The Kirk Yetholm facility will be run by Friends of Nature from August.
Last year the Scottish Youth Hostels Association earmarked the site for closure - along with those in Selkirk and Melrose - in order to make best use of its resources.
Borders MP Michael Moore described it as "fantastic news" that a deal had been agreed to save Kirk Yetholm.
"It was extremely disappointing last year to hear that all three Borders youth hostels were set for closure and I have worked closely with the CEO of SYHA ever since to discuss possible alternatives," he said.
"Here in the Borders, we have so much to offer tourists and saving the hostel at Yetholm will provide a boost to the area."
SYHA chief executive Keith Legge was also pleased with the agreement.
"This is an excellent outcome for the community and is what we have been endeavouring to achieve in retaining accommodation for budget travellers in the Borders through our affiliate programme," he said.
