A68 reopened after serious accident near Jedburgh

A man is in hospital after a crash between a lorry and 4X4 in the Scottish Borders, south of Jedburgh.

An air ambulance was sent to the scene following the collision on the A68 at about 1130 GMT.

The man was eventually rescued by Lothian and Borders fire crews who had to cut him free after the crash left him trapped in his vehicle.

The A68 was reopened at about 1715 GMT but police said the route remained hazardous due to oil and debris.
