An experimental system is to be introduced in a Scottish Borders town to try to improve traffic flows.
The project will see one-way schemes in Kelso's Horsemarket and Woodmarket for a six-month period.
The plans will be monitored through that time and a local stakeholder group will be spoken to regularly by council officials and members.
Local councillor Alec Nicol said it would be January before the experiment got under way.
If the scheme proves a success it could pave the way for a £2m overhaul of the traffic system in the town.
