An agreement has still to be reached on a housing repair contract affecting 150 staff in southern Scotland.

Social landlord DGHP said negotiations were continuing with the firm which bought out the collapsed facilities group, Connaught.

It is attempting to finalise a deal for the Lovell group to formally take over the repair and maintenance programme.

The contract, previously held by Connaught, terminated when the firm went into administration last month.

Lovell bought out the failed company's social housing business and took on its 150-strong local workforce.

A spokeswoman for DGHP confirmed that legal issues were still being being discussed by the two sides as part of efforts to reach a new agreement.

Despite the absence of a formal contract former Connaught staff continue to carry out work for the social landlord.
