Man injured in 'prolonged' attack in Stranraer

A 35-year-old man was seriously injured after being subjected to a prolonged attack at a house in Stranraer.

The attack happened in Coronation Drive at about 2230 BST on Saturday.

The victim was taken to the Galloway Community Hospital where he was treated for head and back injuries, but has since been released.

Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary Police have interviewed a number of people who were at the scene but are still appealing for witnesses.
