Berwickshire pupil petition backs skirt comment rector

A petition is being circulated at a Borders school in favour of a rector's comments against provocative dress.

Berwickshire High School head teacher Robert Kelly has been criticised for telling female pupils they should not wear short skirts or skimpy outfits.

He told them it could provoke unwanted attention and distract male pupils.

Scottish Borders Council supported his efforts to enforce the school dress code and about 80 students have signed a petition backing Mr Kelly's stance.
