Man dies in single-car crash near Stranraer

A 65-year-old man has died in a single-car crash on the A77 in Dumfries and Galloway.

Emergency services were called to the scene just west of Lochans near Stranraer at about 15:30 on Tuesday.

The driver of the white Peugeot 207 involved in the incident was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sgt Bob McNay said police were keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have information or dashcam footage.

He said they were especially keen to speak with the driver of a vehicle seen heading towards Portpatrick at the time who may have witnessed the incident.
