Tickets available for Holyrood opening
Members of the public have been invited to apply for tickets to see the Queen officially open the Scottish Parliament on 2 July.
Only five pairs of public tickets will be made available for the ceremony in the Holyrood chamber, with the remainder going to invited guests.
It will be part of a series of events to mark the new parliamentary session.
They will include Holyrood's Big Day Out, which will see the parliament and its gardens host a family fun day.
The parliament also said "local heroes" would be among the 2,000 people taking part in the colourful Riding procession down Edinburgh's Royal Mile.
Full details of how to apply for one of the five pairs of tickets to see the Queen address the newly-elected members of the parliament are available here.
The tickets will be allocated through a random draw.
