RBS and NatWest account problems due to maintenance
The Royal Bank of Scotland has said RBS and NatWest customers have experienced account problems because of maintenance work.
Some customers have been unable to check accounts, and the glitch has also meant that some accounts have not been credited when they should have been.
An RBS spokesman apologised for any inconvenience caused.
He said the problems had mainly been affecting online and telephone banking customers.
The spokesman said: "We aware of problems affecting our customers.
"Our ATM and card payment systems are operational and the majority of our customers are using these as normal.
"There have been problems affecting online and telephone banking but we have a good understanding of the issues and are making good progress with our recovery plans.
"We will keep our customers fully informed and apologise once again for the inconvenience this has caused."
On Friday, HSBC online banking services and some of the bank's ATMs were not working for more than two hours.
HSBC said the glitch was caused by a server fault and apologised to customers.
