Wood Group wins £500m service contract

Wood Group worker Wood Group said it anticipated further opportunities in the Middle East

Energy services firm The Wood Group has been awarded a £500m contract from Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) to provide services in southern Oman.

The contract to Wood and its partner CCC will run for seven years, with a three-year extension option.

The deal will include engineering, construction, maintenance and support services.

Wood Group said it anticipated further opportunities in the Middle East and was well-placed to win more business.

Les Thomas, board director for Wood Group Production Facilities, said: "A key aspect of our operating success has been our ability to develop the local resource base and this ethos will be brought to Oman."
